Yeats Academy of Arts, Design & Architecture

The project at Atlantic Technological University Sligo comprises an extensive refurbishment and extension of the existing Block L, – a protected structure. The project will accommodate facilities for the Faculty of Engineering & Design as well as the YAADA Department (Yeats Academy of Arts Design and Architecture).

The design for Block L includes a stepped three storey extension to the West of the existing building, while providing a new contemporary facade for the North campus.

A new tapered atrium provides the main circulation hub whilst also providing views over the existing main campus to the landscape and Knocknarea mountains.

Accommodation includes art and design studios, workshops, black box accommodation, ceramics, print and other specialist art and design studios together with a café, staff and ancillary accommodation.
